  • Language Arts and Reading (morning section): This week we finished our grammar unit on adverbs. We reviewed what an adverb is and how to pick them out of sentences. We also talked about how to look at an adverb and tell whether it is in the comparative, superlative or positive form. Finally, we ended our week talking about using commas to set off introductory words, words that interrupt, appositives, and direct addresses. We even had time to play a fun adverb game- Walk the Walk Adverb Charades. Ask your child about it, it was fun! In writing we worked to conference and begin to type our mystery stories. We will hopefully be able to finish typing them next week and begin to illustrate them. In the computer lab we are finishing up our data base project and getting ready to begin a new project where we create movies- Mrs. King gave us a sneak peek on Tuesday. In reading we read more out of our books and continued to discuss what is happening. There will be a word of the day test on Friday. Please encourage your child to study. If they are unsure of any words they should check with Miss Camilletti before the day of the test!

There will be a word of the day test on Friday. Please encourage your child to study. If they are unsure of any words they should check with Miss Camilletti before the day of the test!

  • Social Studies (Dally and Camilletti): This week we finished reading about Alexander the Great. We learned why he was so great and what he did while he was alive. We also worked on filling out note cards and checking them for our test next Thursday the 28th.  There will be a study session the morning of the test beginning at 8:00.
