Position Overview
This unique position combines leadership in school library/media services with instruction and enrichment for gifted and talented students. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of reading, support information literacy, and design engaging, differentiated learning experiences that challenge high-ability learners.

Media Specialist Duties:

• Manage and maintain the school library/media center
• Promote literacy and a love of reading through programs and events
• Teach research skills, digital citizenship, and information literacy
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology and media into instruction
• Curate diverse and inclusive library resources

Gifted & Talented Duties:

• Identify and support gifted and talented students
• Develop and implement differentiated curriculum and enrichment programs
• Foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support advanced learners
• Monitor student progress and communicate with families

Qualifications:

• Valid School Library Media Specialist certification
• Teaching certifications where applicable
• Strong knowledge of children’s literature, educational technology, and differentiated instruction
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Passion for working with diverse learners

 Substitute Drivers

Candidate must possess CDL ( Commercial Drivers License)Class B NJ Drivers License endorsed with a P (showing you can transport passengers) and an S (showing you can drive a school bus). Candidate must complete the NJDOE Criminal History Review and possess a driving record in good standing. Candidate must pass a full DOT physical exam.
